There are five of Silvestri craters, formed with the eruption of 1892. Being easily accessible by car, it is the ideal destination to stroll through a moon-like landscape of the Sicilian Volcano, overlooking the sea in the distance.

You can easily visit the lower crater from the main path or take a slight uphill climb to reach the craters placed higher up, for a splendid view.

At the end of the hike it is possible to stop at Refugio Sapienza located at an altitude of 1900 meters above sea level.
