Trekking excursion to Cave of Lamponi, a volcanic cave on Etna
with a magnetic charm of ancestral and evocative places.

The volcanic caves on Mount Etna have the magnetic charm of ancestral and picturesque sites.

The Cave of Lamponi (raspberries) is not an exception.

Starting from Refugio Ragabo (Coord: 37.8087807 – 15.0698792), we will enter the woods cut by impressive volcanic lava flows, the real lava fields among the vegetation of the northern side of Etna.

This excursion does not include the pick up and drop at your place, but if necessary you can request it at booking stage.

We will discover the volcanic forest with its black pines and many other endemic plant species typical for Etna territory, until we reach the Grotta dei Lamponi.

Entrance Cave of the Lamponi

This is one of the volcanic lava tunnels, the longest of Mount Etna.

After wearing the safety equipment, we will enter the volcanic underground.

Among the various elements that arouse curiosity, there are typical small dogtooth stalactites of remelted magma, just like the horizontal cords on the walls and ceiling.

We suggest wearing hiking boots and carry with you at least 1,5 liters of water, k-way, hat, spare t-shirt, sunscreen and a torch.

All participants will be provided with the safety helmets.
